An Olaplex treatment works at a molecular level to repair the broken bonds inside your hair – the ones snapped by bleach, colour, heat tools and everyday wear. It's not a heavy conditioner or mask; it's a bond-building system that makes hair genuinely stronger, smoother and less prone to breakage. Whether you're booking it as an add-on to your colour or as a standalone pick-me-up between appointments, it's a quick, effective way to turn brittle, tired hair into hair that feels healthier and behaves better.

More information

What happens during your Olaplex treatment

The treatment itself is straightforward and takes place at the backwash. Here's the typical process:

  • Your stylist will shampoo and cleanse your hair thoroughly, then towel-dry
  • No.1 Bond Multiplier is applied and left to work for around 5–10 minutes
  • After a light rinse, No.2 Bond Perfector is applied generously through mid-lengths and ends
  • That sits for another 10–20 minutes, then we rinse, shampoo and condition
  • The whole thing adds roughly 15 minutes to your appointment, so it fits easily alongside a cut, blow-dry or colour service

Because it works internally rather than just coating the surface, your hair will feel lighter and stronger rather than weighed down.

Who benefits most from Olaplex

Olaplex is safe for all hair types and textures, but it really shines when hair has been through the wringer:

  • Colour-treated or bleached hair that's starting to feel rough or snappy
  • Heat-styled hair that's lost its bounce and shine
  • Hair that's been relaxed, permed or chemically straightened
  • Fine or fragile hair that breaks easily
  • Even virgin hair can benefit if it's naturally weak or prone to damage

If your hair is very compromised, one treatment won't work miracles – you'll likely need a series of salon visits plus at-home care to see the full turnaround. But many clients notice an immediate improvement in how their hair feels and handles.

Keeping the results going

Olaplex repairs bonds, but it doesn't make your hair indestructible. To get the most from your treatment:

  • Use at-home Olaplex products between salon visits (we stock the full range and can talk you through what suits your hair)
  • Dial back the heat tools where you can, and always use a heat protectant
  • Space out heavy chemical services – your stylist will help you plan a schedule that keeps your hair strong
  • Keep up with regular trims to clear away any ends that are past saving

Think of Olaplex as part of a bigger plan for healthier hair, not a one-and-done fix. Our team are happy to chat through what your hair needs during your free 15-minute consultation – just give us a ring or pop into the salon in Brighouse.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does an Olaplex treatment cost?
Olaplex treatments start from £20. The exact price may vary depending on whether you're adding it to another service like colour or having it as a standalone treatment. Give us a call to confirm pricing for your appointment.
How long does an Olaplex treatment take?
A standalone Olaplex treatment takes around 15 minutes. If you're adding it to a colour, cut or blow-dry, it won't add much extra time to your overall appointment.
Will one Olaplex treatment fix my damaged hair?
One treatment will usually make a noticeable difference, especially if your hair is mildly damaged. For very compromised or over-processed hair, you'll likely need a series of treatments plus at-home care to see the full benefit. Your stylist can recommend a plan based on your hair's condition.
Can I have Olaplex if I've never coloured my hair?
Absolutely. Olaplex works on all hair types, including virgin hair. If your hair is naturally weak, prone to breakage, or damaged by heat styling, Olaplex can still strengthen and smooth it.
How often should I have an Olaplex treatment?
It depends on your hair's condition and how much damage it's dealing with. Some clients add it to every colour appointment, while others book a standalone treatment every few weeks. Your stylist will suggest a schedule that suits your hair.
Do I need to use Olaplex products at home?
You don't have to, but using the at-home range between salon visits will help maintain and extend the benefits of your in-salon treatment. We stock the full Olaplex range and can recommend what's right for your hair.
Is Olaplex the same as a deep conditioning treatment?
No. Olaplex repairs broken bonds inside the hair at a molecular level, while a conditioning treatment adds moisture and softness to the surface. They work differently, and you can use both – in fact, many clients benefit from combining them.
Can Olaplex be used on relaxed or permed hair?
Yes. Olaplex is safe and effective on chemically treated hair, including relaxers, perms and keratin treatments. It's especially helpful for hair that's been weakened by these services.
Will Olaplex make my hair feel heavy or greasy?
No. Because it works internally rather than coating the hair, Olaplex actually makes hair feel lighter and stronger, not weighed down. You won't get that heavy, product-laden feeling some conditioning treatments can leave.
Can I have Olaplex if my hair is already breaking off?
You can, and it may help slow further breakage, but Olaplex can't restore hair that's already severely damaged or breaking off. Your stylist will assess your hair honestly and may recommend a trim alongside the treatment to clear away the most compromised ends.
