What to expect

This is a dry styling service, so you'll need to arrive with clean, dry hair. One of our stylists will:

• Brush through and section your hair
• Apply a heat protectant spray to shield your hair from high temperatures
• Glide the Cloud Nine straighteners slowly through each section, from roots to ends
• Finish with a smoothing serum or light oil for frizz control and extra shine
• Optional light-hold hairspray to help the style last longer

The Cloud Nine tools heat up almost instantly and use adjustable temperature settings, so your stylist can choose a lower heat for fine or coloured hair and turn it up for thicker, coarser textures. The mineral-infused ceramic plates are designed to smooth the cuticle and add serious shine while minimising heat damage.

How long it lasts (and how to make it last longer)

Your sleek, straight finish will typically hold until your next wash — though humidity, rain, or a sweaty gym session can bring back a bit of wave or frizz sooner, especially if your hair is naturally curly or coarse. To get the most out of your straightening:

• Avoid moisture for a few hours after your appointment (no rainy dog walks or steam rooms!)
• Use an anti-humidity spray or serum if the forecast looks damp
• Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction and keep things smooth overnight
• If you straighten your hair regularly, invest in a good sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner and treat yourself to a weekly mask to keep your hair in top condition

Straightening vs. other smoothing services

This is a temporary heat-styling service, not a chemical treatment — your hair will return to its natural texture once you wash it. If you're after a longer-lasting solution, you might want to consider:

• Keratin smoothing treatments for weeks of frizz-free, easier-to-manage hair (we offer those too)
• A blow-dry if you prefer a bit more volume and movement but still want smoothness
• Regular trims and deep conditioning treatments (like Olaplex) to keep your hair strong and healthy if you're heat-styling often

Heat styling is brilliant for a polished look, but it can be tough on your hair if overdone. A few simple habits can make a big difference:

• Don't straighten every day — give your hair a break with natural styles, braids, or updos a few days a week
• Always use a heat protectant at home if you're using your own straighteners
• Book in for regular trims to snip away dry ends before they split further up the hair shaft
• Chat to your stylist about Olaplex or deep conditioning add-ons if your hair feels dry or damaged — a little TLC goes a long way
