Your stylist works through your dry hair in sections, using the right tool and technique for the curls you want:

• Hair is brushed and detangled first, so each section curls smoothly
• A heat protectant is applied to keep your hair healthy under the hot tools
• Sections are curled with a wand or straighteners, adjusted for your hair type and the look you're after — loose waves, defined curls, or anything in between
• Curls are left to cool in place (this is what makes them last)
• Once cool, they're gently separated or finger-combed for the finish you want
• A finishing product — hairspray for hold, serum for shine, or texture spray for a softer effect — completes the style

The whole thing takes around 30 minutes, so it's a brilliant option when you're short on time but still want polished, occasion-ready hair.

• Dodge heavy rain, steam, and sweaty workouts if you want them to stay put
