What to Expect

Your appointment starts with a consultation to talk through the look you're after – whether that's subtle sun-kissed dimension or bolder, brighter contrast. Then:

• Sectioning: Your stylist works through the top half of your hair – crown, parting and sides – leaving the underneath darker for depth and contrast
• Lightening: Foils are applied to weaved or sliced strands, lifting them 1–2 levels (or more, depending on your starting colour and goals)
• Colour service: A root tint, all-over colour or gloss is applied to blend regrowth, deepen your base or adjust tone
• Toning: A toner is used to neutralise any brassiness and perfect the shade – cool, neutral or warm, depending on what suits you
• Finish: Shampoo, condition and blow-dry, with a final check that you're happy with the result

Highlighted hair needs a bit of extra care to stay looking fresh. Here's what helps:

• Use colour-safe shampoo and conditioner (we stock and recommend Keune for the best results)
• Reduce heat styling where you can, and always use heat protection when you do
• Book regular trims to keep lightened ends healthy and prevent splitting
• Consider a deep conditioning or Olaplex treatment if your hair feels dry or fragile after lightening

Most clients return every 6–12 weeks for a top-up, depending on how quickly regrowth shows and how bright you like to keep your highlights. Between major appointments, you might want a toner refresh to keep brassiness under control – it's a quick service that makes a big difference.

Preparing for Your Appointment

A few things to keep in mind before you come in:

• Let your stylist know your full colour history – previous dyes, bleach, perms or chemical straightening all affect how your hair lifts
• Bring reference photos if you have a specific look in mind – it makes the consultation much easier
• If you have a sensitive scalp or a history of allergies, mention it early so we can arrange a patch test in advance
• Be realistic about timing: going significantly lighter from dark or previously coloured hair may take multiple sessions to protect your hair's condition
