This service is for anyone wanting a complete colour transformation across their whole head. We apply a full head of foils—covering top, sides, crown and underneath—then follow with an all-over colour and a finishing toner to give you even, multi-dimensional results that look polished from every angle.
More information
What happens during your appointment
Your stylist will talk through your goals and check your hair's condition, then:
- Section and foil the hair throughout your whole head, applying lightener or colour in thin weaves or slices
- Process the foils (usually with gentle ambient heat) until the desired lift is achieved
- Rinse the foils, then apply an all-over colour between or over sections to harmonise the base shade and cover any greys
- Apply a toner after shampooing to refine the final shade—whether you're after cool blonde, warm caramel, or ash tones—and neutralise any unwanted yellow or orange
- Condition, cut and blow-dry, so you leave with a finished, salon-fresh look
The whole process takes around 105 minutes, though it can run longer if your hair is particularly thick or if you're going significantly lighter.
Who it suits
This service works beautifully if you want:
- Comprehensive lightness throughout your hair, not just surface highlights
- A dramatic but even colour change—great if you're ready to go much blondes or add warmth all over
- Multi-dimensional tone with lighter pieces and a harmonised base that looks natural from root to tip
- Results that still look intentional when you wear your hair up or in a ponytail (unlike partial foils, which can leave the underside untouched)
Because we're working on hair above shoulder length, application is efficient and the results are striking without requiring the product volume or time commitment of very long hair.
Maintaining your colour
Full head foils are higher maintenance than subtle highlights:
- Root regrowth becomes noticeable around 6–8 weeks, depending on your natural shade and how light you've gone
- Most clients refresh their foils and toner every 8–12 weeks to keep the colour looking fresh
- Toner fades with washing, so you might book an interim gloss appointment between full services to maintain your tone and shine
- Use sulphate-free shampoo for coloured hair, condition regularly, and apply a weekly mask to keep hair soft and colour vibrant
- Protect from heat styling, harsh sun, and chlorine—all of which can strip colour and dry out lightened hair
Our stylists (Janet, Lynzie, Beckie, Alicia, Jess and Imogen) can recommend Keune and Olaplex products to keep your colour looking salon-fresh at home.
Before you book
- Book a free 15-minute consultation if you're new or considering a big change—we'll assess your hair's condition and talk through what's achievable in one session versus over time
- If you've used box dyes, henna, or had keratin treatments, let us know so we can adjust formulas and manage expectations
- A patch test 24–48 hours before your appointment is recommended for all colour services, especially if you have sensitive skin
- Very dark or previously coloured hair may need multiple sessions to reach very light or cool tones safely, protecting your hair's integrity along the way
Bring photos of looks you love—especially on hair that matches your length and texture—so your stylist can tailor foil placement, base depth, and toner choice to suit you.
