Whether you're looking to cover grey, darken your natural shade, or add a bit more depth and richness, men's hair colour is a straightforward way to look polished without looking like you've done anything. At Park Row in Brighouse, we apply one colour all over for even, natural coverage, and you can add foils for highlights or lowlights if you want a bit more dimension and movement.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
Your stylist will start with a quick consultation to chat through the shade you're after, how much grey you want covered, and whether foils would suit your style. We'll then:
- Section your hair and apply the tint methodically from roots to ends for consistent, even colour
- Add foils (if you've chosen them) to lift specific strands and create natural-looking highlights or contrast
- Leave the colour to process for 30–45 minutes, depending on the formula and how much lift or coverage you need
- Rinse, shampoo, and condition, then style your hair so you can see the finished result
The whole appointment takes around 75 minutes, and you'll leave with richer, more uniform colour and a fresher look overall.
Grey Coverage and Natural Tones
All-over colour is brilliant for blending or fully covering grey, giving you one consistent shade that looks natural rather than patchy. We'll match the colour to your skin tone and lifestyle — cool browns suit most men and avoid any redness, while warmer shades can brighten your complexion if you prefer a softer finish.
If you want to keep a bit of salt-and-pepper rather than going solid, foils let us add lighter or darker pieces through the grey so it blends gradually and looks intentional, not just grown-out.
Looking After Your Colour
To keep your colour looking fresh and avoid fading:
- Use a colour-safe or sulfate-free shampoo and try not to wash your hair every single day
- Rinse with lukewarm water rather than scalding hot, which can strip pigment faster
- If you swim regularly, wear a cap or rinse chlorine out straight away — pools and salt water are tough on colour
- Come back every 4–6 weeks for a root touch-up, especially if you've gone for full grey coverage
Foils grow out more subtly than solid colour, so if you've added highlights you might stretch maintenance appointments a little longer before they need refreshing.
Is Men's Colour Right for You?
Men's colour works for almost anyone, but it's worth thinking about maintenance before you commit. Darker, richer shades with strong grey coverage will show regrowth more obviously and need regular touch-ups, while softer tones and scattered foils can grow out more forgivingly.
If you've used box dye at home or had other chemical services (perms, relaxers), mention it at your consultation — previous colour affects how the new shade takes, and your stylist may need to adjust the formula. We also recommend a patch test 24–48 hours before your first colour if you have sensitive skin or any history of reactions, just to be safe.
