What Happens During Your Treatment

Your stylist will start with a free 15-minute consultation to understand your hair history, goals, and lifestyle. The treatment itself involves:

• Clarifying cleanse to remove product build-up and open the cuticle
• Sectioning and application of the keratin smoothing formula to towel-dried or dry hair
• Processing time while the formula works its magic
• Blow-drying and heat sealing with a flat iron at high temperature to lock keratin into the cuticle

The whole appointment typically takes 30–90 minutes, depending on your hair length and thickness. You'll leave with noticeably smoother, shinier, less puffy hair that's far more resistant to humidity.

Who It's For

Keratin smoothing works brilliantly for frizzy, wavy, or curly hair that struggles with humidity or takes ages to style. It's also suitable for colour-treated hair, though our team will tailor the formula strength and heat settings if your hair is bleached or fragile.

This isn't a permanent chemical straightener—it's all about frizz control and manageability rather than pin-straight results. If you want to keep your natural curl or wave but lose the frizz and flyaways, keratin smoothing is ideal. The results gradually wash out rather than growing out with a hard line, so it's a flexible, lower-commitment option.

Aftercare and Making Results Last

Most keratin systems require you to avoid washing or wetting your hair for 48–72 hours after treatment—that means no rain, sweaty workouts, swimming, or tying your hair back during this time. (Some modern formulas allow same-day washing; your stylist will confirm which applies to you.)

Once the waiting period is over, switching to sulfate-free or keratin-safe shampoo and conditioner will help prolong your results. You'll notice your blow-dry time drops significantly, and styling with heat tools becomes much easier. Results typically last 2–5 months, depending on how often you wash your hair and how well you maintain it.
